Costa Rica

Costa Rica is recognized worldwide for the beauty and diversity of its natural attractions.  It has a series of microclimates, ranging from dry tropical forests, tropical rainforests, cloud forests and others which make the country, of only 51,000 square kilometers, an incredible abundance of flora and fauna.

The country’s beaches are equally diverse and fantastic. The beaches of the South Caribbean, the beaches of the North Pacific (Guanacaste) as well as the beaches of the South Pacific are some of the most beautiful in the world. One thing that makes Costa Rica’s beaches stand out is not only the beach itself, but the fact that many times the beach itself is surrounded by virgin rainforest, which adds to the beauty.

Additionally, the country has more than 30% of protected areas, including national parks, biological reserves and other levels of natural protection. These protected areas protect a wide variety of habitats such as jungles, paramos, wetlands, rivers, lagoons and natural canals. Additionally, thanks to these protection zones, a large portion of the coastal zone is also protected, which has prevented urban overdevelopment. Therefore, many kilometers of natural coastline can be appreciated, which are especially beautiful in the North Pacific and South Pacific.

Guanacaste

Guanacaste is a large province located in the northwest of the country. It is unique and particular, as the climate is different from other regions of Costa Rica and highlights the fact that it is the driest region of Costa Rica.

It is the area where there are many national parks, several active volcanoes, extensive dry tropical forests and also a very long coastline, which is extremely dramatic, beautiful and interesting.

Guanacaste is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.  Due to the dramatic topography and geography of the Guanacaste coast, it is still possible to find extremely beautiful, desolate, virgin beaches, which are always separated from other beaches by rocks or reefs, giving them a secret, exclusive and remote atmosphere. There are still many virgin beaches, which can be visited most of the time by boat or ship.
